BBL HERO™ is a new addition to our Sciton Laser platform that allows us to treat
patients with Broadband Light at a faster speed, using a constant motion technique, delivering 3-4x as many light pulses than plain BBL, avoiding any “striping”, increasing efficiency, and making the entire treatment more comfortable for the patient. It also allows for 2x the cooling, 3x the peak power, and 4x the speed. Now we can easily treat large areas of the body such as backs, legs, arms, and chests without long, uncomfortable treatment sessions!
BBL HERO™ can be used on any area of the body, including the face. Forever Young
BBL+™, using BBL HERO™, allows us to treat the face and neck with Broadband Light more rapidly and comfortably than in the past, while Forever Body BBL™ refers to the use of BBL HERO™ on other, larger body areas. Acne & Rosacea Treatment
Using the Sciton laser’s Broad Band Light (BBL) application, we can successfully treat acne and rosacea using specific modalities and selected filters, decreasing skin bacteria, redness, and inflammation. These are best treated with a series of treatments, each tailored specifically to the individual patient’s needs, modified as needed, until the condition is well controlled. Typically 4-6 treatments are initially needed, with retreatments as necessary for maintenance. Scarring from previous acne or rosacea can also be treated with the Sciton Laser, using either the Profractional or Halo modalities (see Laser Resurfacing).
Hair Reduction
Hair Reduction is achieved using the Sciton Laser’s Broad Band Light (BBL) application, using a special light modality and selected filters over repeated sessions. Hair follicles are repeatedly subjected to specifically filtered light bands and over time become lighter, finer, and fall out. Results vary from person to person, as well as on different areas of the body, and treatment sessions should be timed at regular 4 or 6 week intervals in order to capture the hair follicles at the correct stages of growth each time.
Skin Cancer Prevention
Regular treatments with BBL have been shown to reduce the incidence of Squamous Cell and Basal Cell Carcinoma by 80%. These treatments also improve skin tone and even out skin coloration, reducing brown and red spots due to sun damage.
Skin Tightening “Skin Tyte” for Under Eyes
We use a specific modality of the Broad Band Light to help to tighten areas of skin that have become lax from weight variations or general aging. This is especially useful in the area below the eyes. This BBL modality works by stimulating your skin’s own collagen and elastin production, causing firming and tightening of the underlying structural layers over time with repeated treatments. Results are typically visible after the first three treatments and continue to improve with time. While this is primarily used under the eyes, it can also be used on the lower face and neck, upper arms, abdomen, thighs, and other areas.
Age Spot Treatment / Removal
Brown, tan, and red spots, as well as tiny superficial blood vessels, can develop with age and sun damage. BBL™ treatments can fade and even remove these spots and vessels, often in 1-3 treatments, leaving skin with a younger, more even texture, tone, and appearance.
