Megan Mahoney, MD, MSEd, is owner and Medical Director of Pearl Aesthetic Medicine, a practice she opened in 2019 with a partner and became sole owner in 2023.
Dr. Megan has dedicated her entire professional life to helping her patients preserve and/or enhance their health, establish balance, and live fully and happily regardless of age.
Dr. Megan:
- Is Board-Certified in Family Medicine and holds multiple certifications in Aesthetic Medicine.
- Is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, and the International Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery.
- Served as full-time faculty at both the University of Iowa and University of Minnesota Schools of Medicine, training resident physicians in rural family medicine, women’s health, high-risk obstetrics, and surgical procedures.
- Also worked as a hospitalist physician, frontier medicine physician, urgent care physician, hospice physician, and emergency department physician.
Held elected and appointed positions in university, Federal, community, and large private health systems as Medical Director, Assistant and Associate Resident Program Director, Curriculum Director, Chief Medical Officer, and Department Chair.
Dr. Megan firmly believes cosmetic and surgical therapies improve psychosocial health in her patients and reduce, even eliminate appearance-related distress.
Megan Mahoney grew up in rural northern Minnesota. She attended college at the
University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, and graduated from the University of
Minnesota Medical School.
Her residency training was in Family Medicine and Community Health through the
University of Minnesota, with an emphasis on rural medicine and obstetrics. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Medical Education at the University of Southern California. Dr. Megan moved from Minnesota to Telluride in 2012. She now lives in town with her wife, Nancy, and their dogs, Wally and Izzy.
Dr. Megan has been a member of the Telluride Choral Society for many years, plays the upright string bass and piano; and is a competitive crossword puzzler who never misses The New York Times annual tournament. She loves dogs, Cornerhouse trivia, politics, and “The Golden Girls.”
