Treatments

We offer many different treatment options for aging skin, age spots, sun damage, skin cancer prevention, uneven skin tones/textures, and fine lines and wrinkles. Click on any of the following modalities to find out more about it.

Broad Band Light (BBL) uses broad wavelengths of intense pulsed light through specific filters to treat sun damage, pigmented spots, destroy small vessels, and stimulate collagen growth to lead to skin tightening. Repeated treatments with BBL have been shown to decrease the risk of Basal Cell Carcinoma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma by 80%. It is also one of the most effective methods for the removal of brown pigmented “age spots”, and it can be used anywhere on the body.

HALO is a hybrid laser modality that uses two different laser wavelengths, one ablative and one nonablative, to achieve the removal of sun damaged skin, age spots and vessels, improve skin tone and texture, improve the appearance of pores, and decrease fine lines and wrinkles. The use of both wavelengths has been shown to lead to fasting healing and decrease post-procedure down time. Studies are currently underway, but we anticipate a significant reduction in Basal Cell and Squamous Cell skin cancers with regular use of the HALO treatment. It is most often used on the face, neck, and chest, but can be used anywhere on the body.

Laser Peels can remove thin outer layers of damaged skin, leaving behind a smoother, healthier-appearing surface, improving skin tone and texture, and decreasing the appearance of age spots and fine lines. The depth is adjusted for the goals of each particular patient, and down time is minimal.

Dermal Fillers are naturally occurring compounds in the human body, either hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxyapatite, which are injected into or beneath the skin to add volume where it has been lost with age, weight loss, or muscle atrophy. This can also improve the appearance of aging skin and decrease wrinkles and fine lines. These are most often used on the face and neck, but they can be used anywhere on the body.

Neuromodulators such as Botox and Xeomin are injectables that weaken the facial or neck muscles where they are injected in order to decrease the muscle’s ability to form skin wrinkles in that area. The effect typically lasts about 12 weeks and wears off gradually. They can also be used preventively in younger patients, to avoid the development of facial wrinkles, particularly in the forehead area and between the eyebrows.
