Neuromodulators

Neuro-

modulators

Neuromodulators are injectable products created from the botulinum toxin and are used to stop movements that cause static lines or wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the muscles beneath the skin. They may be used to help “unlearn” certain repetitive movements that can lead to chronic wrinkle formation. There are several commercially available products in this class; we carry Botox and Xeomin. They both have similar onset of action, duration, and complication rates.

Botox

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) was the first FDA-approved neuromodulators for the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles on the face, and it works beneath the surface to temporarily reduce the underlying muscle activity that causes those lines.

Xeomin

Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA-approved neuromodulator for the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles on the face, working beneath the skin to temporarily block the muscle contractions that cause them.
