Injectables

Neuromodulators: Botox & Xeomin

What Are they?

Injectables are a form of the botulinum toxin, used to temporarily relax muscles to help prevent them from forming wrinkles. Once injected, it usually takes 5-14 days for results to show full effect. Neuromodulators are most effective for frown lines between the brows, forehead lines, and crow’s feet (outside the eyes), but also works for chin roughness, “smoker’s lines” above the upper lip, to lower a gummy smile, to minimize neck bands, and more.
  • Every 3-4 months because, on average, that’s about how long the effect lasts.
  • Adult men and women, generally over age 30 when wrinkles or frown lines are beginning to develop.
  • Younger adults can use it for prevention of these lines as well.
  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding or have had an adverse or allergic reaction to botulinum toxin in the past.
